The philosophy behind Machinepop have never been prestige and trying to please the masses. Instead Machinepop have focused on a few rules to guide the creative process;
1. Only analogue or
semi-analogue synthesisers are allowed
2. No drum machines or drum synthesisers are allowed
3. Vocals shall be vocoded
4. Vocals shall concern electronics and
quasi-sci-fi subjects
5. Quantization isn't just allowed, it's
recommended ;)
